1972
DMP was founded in 1972 by Jacques Potier, and focussed on a number of
diverse activities: forklift trucks, the dismantling of sugar factories, distribution
agent for Réunion, Martinique, and Guadeloupe,
refuelling of vessels (AVITAN). The forklift truck adventure
began with Clark USA/RFA. Fenwick and Nissan, world-
famous brands, were a successful addition to the group when
Clark Europe went into liquidation, to offer its customers a more extensive
range of diesel-powered forklift trucks and material handling equipment. -
1984
At the age of 24, Jean-Luc Potier took over the family business,
restructuring the company's sales around material handling and
lifting: pallet trucks, forklift trucks and port handling equipment.
Fenwick, Nissan, Kalmar and Amlat were some of the leading brands to associate
themselves with DMP to professionalise material handling in the Réunion, which was booming.
Securing the collaboration of Bobcat and the development of Réunion allowed the gradual but
promising insertion of small public works equipment onto the market. -

service, consolidate the group's leading position and the trust of its customers. -
1996
■ Creation of the MIM subsidiary in Mayotte to support the development of
material handling in the Indian Ocean where demand is on the up.In addition to the group's activities, MIM also develops the sale and rental
of buses and trucks in its area.« A regional group close to its local customers. »
